Mission 1 is designed to help participants examine the sustainability implications of a souvenir business.

  • Learn about the economic impacts of souvenirs.
  • Learn about the environmental impacts of souvenirs.
  • Learn about the social impacts of souvenirs.

  • Develop an understanding of the economic, environmental and social impacts of a souvenir business.

Mission 2

Description

Mission 2 is designed to guide participants to implement sustainability considerations when sourcing souvenirs.

Learning objectives

Participants will:

  • Review the benefits for sourcing souvenirs locally.
  • Learn about Fairtrade and Eco-certified labels for goods.
  • Review practices for promoting local products.

Learning outcomes

Participants will be able to:

  • Develop an understanding of the role of souvenir businesses in sustaining the local economy and the socio-cultural authenticity of the local community.
  • Recognise major Eco-certification labels for goods.
  • Apply sustainable practices when running souvenir shops.
  • Formulate sustainable criteria for subleasing souvenir shops.
  • Apply the knowledge gained in their professional environment.

Mission 3

Description

Mission 3 is a quiz section of variable difficulty. Participants compete against each other to improve their score, win badges and rise on the scoreboard and leaderboard tables.

Learning objectives

Participants will:

  • Test their knowledge and skills based on the learning objectives of Mission 1 and Mission 2.

Learning outcomes

Participants will be able to:

  • Assess their competences in sustainable souvenir sourcing and instore promotional practices.
